In this teaching series in Romans, Eddie walks us through the book of Romans to reveal it in its Hebraic context teaching it with a Torah perspective. After we are saved by grace through faith, do we do away with the Torah? Paul answers this question in Romans 3: 31: “Do we then make void the Torah through faith? God forbid: yea, we ESTABLISH the Torah.” So, we follow the Torah of Messiah Yeshua, and walk as He walked. Sin is defined as the transgression of the Torah. If we don’t follow the Torah after we are saved by grace through faith, then by definition, we are sinning. Yeshua came to redeem us from our sinful lifestyle. Paul tells us how he follows the Torah of Yeshua by the Holy Spirit: Romans 7: 22: “For I delight in the Torah of God after the inward man. ”
In this session, Eddie dives into Romans 7. In this chapter Paul talks about the marriage vows that are exchanged between husband and wife. He then compares that to the relationship that we have with Messiah Yeshua.
“Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.” Romans 7:4
The context of this verse is this: Dead to the law is dead to the original vow that was made at Mt Sinai which they broke when they played the harlot with the golden calf incident. Now we die to our sin and become a “new creature” and can RENEW our marriage covenant with Yeshua our Bridegroom.
