Romans ~ Pt 6b ~ “Under the Law” of Spirit of Messiah v/s “Under the Law” of Sin and Death

In this teaching series in Romans, Eddie walks us through the book of Romans to reveal it in its Hebraic context teaching it with a Torah perspective. Eddie takes a close look at the presumption found in mainstream Christianity that if you believe in Yeshua you are not supposed to follow the Torah. Was this what Paul taught, believed and lived? Paul said these words:
Romans 3:31: “Do we then make void the Torah through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Torah.”
Romans 7:12: “Wherefore the Torah is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.”
Romans 7:14: “For we know that the Torah is spiritual…”
Romans 7:22: “For I delight in the Torah of God after the inward man.”
Paul was NOT making the case that the believer in Yeshua is NOT to follow the Torah.
“Under the law” is code for following the Oral Torah of the Pharisees and the rabbinical teachings of the Rabbis without trusting and believing in Yeshua as Messiah.
It is also code for trying to establish your own self righteousness through works and religion and apart from Messiah Yeshua.
Paul is comparing and contrasting being “under the law” of Messiah by the newness of spirit v/s being “under the law” of the oral traditions and teachings of the rabbis/Pharisees.
Paul states in Romans 8:3: “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
